Representatives of the Shooters Edge gun shop and local parents talked to the Sullivan County school board about how to improve school safety on the morning of January 22, 2013.
Another parent pleading for urgency from commissioners for school safety. She said she wants an SRO in every school.
Colonial Heights parent of elementary school kids asking for safety measures in schools, particularly SROs, even if it means a wheel tax. She asked commissioners to seriously consider these measures.
County commissioners listen to community thoughts on school safety.
Another parent letting his voice be heard. This man wants more SROs on school property. He is also questioning schools' status as "gun free zones." He is open to arming teachers.
This parent says he wants to be a volunteer to be an armed security guard in a school. He wants commissioners to consider arming qualified volunteers.
