Johnny began his broadcast career in radio and made the switch to WCYB-TV in 1968.

He's worked as a sports anchor, news reporter and news anchor, and also reports weather weekdays on News 5 At Noon.

Johnny attended East Tennessee State University.

Johnny is an avid fisherman and, though he doesn’t fish every day, he spends a lot of time on our area lakes and streams.
