Alexa Middleton scored 20 points, and Riverdale won its 58th straight game Saturday beating Science Hill 78-69 in the Class AAA girls Tennessee tournament championship.
Riverdale (35-0), ranked No. 1 nationally by both ESPN and MaxPreps and No. 4 by USA Today, hasn't lost since Dec. 22, 2011, in a holiday tournament title game in Atlanta.
Tyisha Petty added 16 points and 7 assists for Riverdale. Olivia Jones had 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and Shelbie Davenport 13 points.
Riverdale jumped out to a 12-4 lead, but Science Hill tied it at 24 midway through the second quarter. A minute later, Petty hit three consecutive shots to extend the lead to 33-28 lead, and Riverdale was up 40-33 at halftime.
An 8-0 run early in the fourth quarter put Riverdale up 66-56, and the Lady Warriors hit 9 of 12 free throws at the end to seal their second straight state title and third in four years.
Science Hill (35-4) was led by Tianna Tarter with 19 points. Gabby Lyon added 4 points and 10 rebounds.
