Dee Cook scored 20 points to lead Radford to its third Group A Division 2 boys basketball championship with a 72-58 victory over Gate City on Saturday.
Josh Little scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter for Radford (28-2), while Isaiah Phillips added 14 points. Radford won its first state title in 1949 and added recent Division 2 crowns in 2009 and 2011.
Luke Ervin led Gate City (24-6) with 17 points. Dylan Jenkins had 16, and 6-foot-7 center Andy Arnold added 11.
The Blue Devils were seeking their first state basketball championship. Gate City lost to Clarke County in the 2007 Group A final and to George Wythe in the 2008 Division 2 final. Gate City also was the 1999 Group AA runner-up.
