Florida Panthers center Jonathan Huberdeau, who led all rookies with six goals and totaled nine points in 13 games, has been named the NHL Rookie of the Month for February. Huberdeau edged Tampa Bay Lightning center Cory Conacher (4-5—9 in 14 games), Panthers teammate Drew Shore (2-8—10 in 13 games) and Dallas Stars left wing Antoine Roussel (4-3—7 in 12 games) for the honor. Huberdeau, 19, had a career-high four points (2-2—4) in a 5-2 victory at the Philadelphia Flyers Feb. 21, including the game-winning goal on a penalty shot. His four-point night tied Mark Parrish (4-0—4 at Chicago, 10/30/98) and Jesse Belanger (2-2—4 vs. Washington, 1/19/94) for the most points in one game by a rookie in franchise history.
