Arlon Harper scored 25 points, including 20 in the first half, as Charleston Southern dominated East Tennessee State 72-51 Tuesday night in a nonconference showdown.
Jeremy Sexton added 15 points, and Cedrick Bowen chipped in with 14 points off the bench for Charleston Southern (4-5).
Tied at 16 with 9:05 remaining in the first half, Charleston Southern closed out the period on a 21-2 run to take a 37-18 lead into halftime.
Charleston Southern shot 50 percent (13 for 26) in the first half compared to East Tennessee State shooting 28.6 percent (8 for 28).
After cutting the lead to single digits in the second half, 49-41 with 10:38 left to play, East Tennessee State (2-7) was outscored 23-10 the rest of the way.
Charleston Southern dominated on the boards 42-28.
Lester Wilson scored 16 points to lead East Tennessee State, which has now lost four straight.
