Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell is keeping a state of emergency in effect as another winter storm bears down on the state.
McDonnell declared a state of emergency last week ahead of a storm that dumped two to three feet of snow in some parts of Virginia.
The declaration allowed state agencies to help local governments in responding to the storm.
Forecasts are calling for more snow today and tomorrow.
Virginia State Police said they responded to more than 5,000 calls for service from Friday through Sunday, mostly for traffic crashes and for people who broke down.
Also, the Virginia Department of Military Affairs had more than 500 soldiers on duty.
