Joey Barker Reporting
A man is facing serious charges after Kingsport police found him with homemade bombs. It happened at the Model City Motel over the weekend.
Detectives say Anthony McClain was making chemical bombs, a process that involves mixing chemicals in a plastic bottle. Police say they were called after McClain started throwing the homemade bombs into the street and parking lot around the motel. Authorities say the chemical bombs can be very dangerous, in some cases even taking a person's hand off if they pick it up.
McClain is charged with making a prohibited weapon, a felony that can carry up to 30 years in prison.
