Crews Stop Gas Leak In Bristol, Tennessee

It is now safe for people to return to their homes after a gas leak prompted an evacuation of some Bristol, Tennessee neighborhoods.

The incident started Friday afternoon on Highway 126 just past the entrance to Steele Creek Park.

Officials say a front-end loader hit a gas line, causing the leak.

Crews closed both lanes of Highway 126 and evacuated people within a 1-mile radius of the leak.

The leak has since been stopped, and people have been allowed back into their homes.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
