Historical Building Sold in Downtown Bristol

The former HP King building sold for $255, 000 at auction this morning.  The building, located at 620 State Street, once held the largest department store between Knoxville and Roanoke.  The buyer, Charles Dixon, says he's not sure what he'll do with his new purchase.

The building has been vacant for about a year.  Downtown business owners say they're looking forward to seeing what becomes of it.  New growth and renovations are things downtown Bristol has seen a lot of lately.

"It's exciting here and it's a part of history and your downtown in almost any city is the thriving nucleus of what makes your city so special," said business owner Karen Hester.
