Used Bikes Needed To Help Children In Need

Students at Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon, Virginia are collecting used bicycles.  It's part of a service project to help those in need.

The group in charge of the project is S.I.F.E, or Students in Free Enterprise.  "The way S.I.F.E. works is the students' construction community outreach projects working with individuals, families, students businesses in the community just to bring to better benefit the quality of life for everyone involved," said Phil Ferguson, an English professor at the college.

The students will take the bikes they collect to the Northeast State Correctional facility where they will be refurbished and then given to a child this Christmas.

Bike donations will be accepted until the end of the month and may be dropped at the College Building and Grounds Facility at Virginia Highlands in Abingdon.
