The Sullivan County Sheriff's Department says a Bristol Tennessee Essential Services worker died this morning while on a job on Hickory Tree Road.
Deputies say Ronald Eugene Norris, 34, of Bluff City died at the scene. The victim's co-worker, Cody Carrier, told authorities he was at another pole and was checking to make sure there was no power on the pole Norris was on when he heard a loud noise and saw a flash of light. Carrier reported that when he looked over to the pole Norris was on, he saw Norris on the ground lying on his back. Carrier stated he started CPR and continued until EMS arrived.
Norris leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
The Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
