Sullivan Co. Man Charged with Attempted Murder



The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office is investigating a domestic disturbance between a man and his son-in-law.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired the evening of Tuesday, November 3rd on Old Blairs Gap Road.
Officers have charged Orge Phillips, 66, with Attempted Second Degree Murder and Reckless Endangerment after they say he fired shots into the truck of his son-in-law, James Lawson, following a disagreement.  Two other people were also in the truck at the time.  Nobody was hurt.  

Phillips is being held in the Sullivan County Correctional Facility.  Bond is set at $50,000.
