Drive Through Gains New Meaning At Kingsport Restaurant

ttaylor@wcyb.com

An elderly man backed his Buick through the front of a Chinese restaurant in Kingsport, injuring two diners. Police believe the driver was either trying to park or to leave a handicapped parking space by the restaurant's entrance on Thursday when he hit the gas pedal.

The car came to rest with its rear two doors, back tires, trunk and bumper inside the building. Two of the restaurant's customers were taken to the hospital. Their condition was not immediately available.

The accident is still under investigation.
