King College Receives $25 Million Grant For Proposed Medical School
The Virginia Tobacco Board has unanimously approved a $25 million grant for the proposed King College Medical School.
The grant is a matching award and enables King to take the next step in securing a location in Southwest Virginia to begin building the proposed School of Medicine.
Tentative plans call for the first class of students to enroll in the new School of Medicine in the fall of 2012.
King College President Dr. Greg Jordan says the action by the Tobacco Commission has given them the foundation they need to move forward.
