Prosecuters Await Defense In Knoxville Torture Trial
Prosecutors rested their case against the accused leader in the torture deaths of a young Knoxville couple.
The state rested on Saturday morning after six days of testimony that included graphic evidence of the deaths of 21-year-old Channon Christian and 23-year-old Christopher Newsom in January 2007.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reported that Criminal Court Judge Richard Baumgartner is expected to ask whether Lemaricus Davidson intends to testify in his own defense.
Davidson's brother and co-defendant, Letalvis Cobbins, has been convicted of murder and related charges in the case, and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
