Red Hot Fall Fishing !

The fall fishing is really cranking up. The fish have moved up and they are hungry. Lots of folks out catching fish. Check out these pictures of these young folks. This is a  nine pound rainbow trout that 9 year old Blaine Korman caught. Blaine and his dad Bruce Korman were trolling Little Cleo spoons in Fort Patrick Henry Lake. The Kormans are from Johnson City. His dad says this was Blaine's first trout fishing trip. These young men know how to put meat on the table. Ethan Lambert and Josh Guy are 17 years old. They were night fishing on Watauga Lake and caught a stringer of catfish that weighed a total of 68 pounds. They caught the fish on night crawlers and cut bait. They say the caught most of the fish between one and five in the morning. Mountain stream fishing good on stone fly imitations like stimulators and caddis flies. The tail waters are fishing good. Try sulfurs on the South Holston and caddis flies on the Watauga. TVA is still moving water in the afternoons along the South Holston and Watauga Rivers. Top water bass bite is really good on Watauga Lake right now. particularly on overcast mornings and evenings. They're using Pop R's, Zara Spooks and Bomber Long A. There is a little top water action in South Holston, but the better fishing is still at night on smoke colored grubs and the night time spinner bait. Boone Lake is seeing some really good night action on the night time spinner bait. Stripers are hitting the bait  schools and you can catch them on top water lures like the Thunder Stick and Red Fin lures. Crappie fishing has been pretty good where you can find some brush  Cherokee Lake  seeing smaller bass on small medium running crank baits and a few big ones on top water lures. Try Zara Spooks and Buzz Baits. Douglas Lake is spotty. One  day or night they are there, then next time out it's pretty tough. Fall fishing here get out there before it gets cold.
