WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. - A Wise County, Virginia man is facing a long list of charges after Washington County, Virginia Sheriff Fred Newman says he abducted a woman at gunpoint.
Officers tell us Tarrus Ernest Forney went into the home of a woman and waited for her to come home. The victim had left to get a protective order against Forney. After she came back home, investigators say he physically beat and assaulted her. That's when they say she was taken from her house at gunpoint and taken to another house on Fairview Street in Bristol, Virginia.
Around 12:30 pm on Friday, police from Bristol, Virginia told us they got a call from the alleged victim after she ran away from Forney. Washington County, Virginia deputies and Bristol, Virginia police went to the home on Fairview and that's when they arrested Forney. They tell us they found a .22 caliber handgun they believe was used in the alleged abduction.
Tarrus Ernest Forney, of Coeburn, Virginia, will face charges in Washington County, Virginia of burglary, abduction, malicious wounding, aggravated sexual battery, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm while being a convicted felon, and theft of a firearm. In Bristol, Virginia, he'll face a charge of possession of a firearm while being a convicted felon. Forney is in the Bristol, Virginia jail without bond.
