GRAY, Tenn. - The community in Gray, Tenn. braved the rain on Sunday to hold a car show to benefit the family of motorcycle rider Sam Ireson. Ireson was killed on March 8, in an accident on Fort Henry Dr. in Kingsport.
The show was held in the parking lot of O'Reilly's Auto Parts store.
There were all kinds of cars at the show, including imported, model and muscle cars. Organizers told us they're using the car show to raise money for the Ireson family. We're told Sam Ireson did not have life insurance.
They also said they want drivers to be more aware of motorcycles on the road.
"We can start awareness here," said organizer Jonathan Williams. "Just something as little as looking left and right and making sure there's no one coming your way is just something we thought that if we started here we could make it grow."
The car show ran until the store closed Saturday night at 8:00 p.m.
