WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. - A school bus driver has been charged in a crash that happened September 20 in Washington County, Tennessee.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Brenda Gray is charged with eight counts of reckless aggravated assault, 31 counts of felony reckless endangerment, speeding, reckless driving and failure to exercise due care.
THP says she was going 57.3 miles per hour on Mt. Wesley Road before losing control of the bus and overcorrecting. The speed limit on that road is 30 miles per hour.
Gray has appeared in court and been arraigned. She is now in jail under a $50,000 bond.
Police say 46 students were on board when the bus ran off of the road and flipped. They were from David Crockett High School.
Twenty-six people on board were treated for injuries as various hospitals.
The crash happened on Mount Wesley Road. All of the injured are now home from the hospital.
