WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. - UPDATE 2:37: We're learning more facts about the investigation into a domestic dispute that ended with four people dead and one more recovering in the hospital.
We're told there has been a long history of domestic disputes between Kristin Palmer and Kevin Palmer. Investigators tell us a protective order against Kevin expired Monday night at midnight. Click here to read an affidavit written by Kristin Palmer about the abuse (WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT).
That prompted another court date on Monday evening. That's when the court issued another emergency protective order against Kevin around 5:30 p.m.
UPDATE 2:00 p.m.: Washington County, Virginia authorities have confirmed the names of the victims in the deadly shooting.
At a 2:00 p.m. press conference, they say Kristin Palmer, Griffin Palmer, Nancy Griffin, and Kevin Palmer were all killed in the shooting. Officers say they were alerted to the scene after being called by Kristin Palmer's son, Griffin.
We're told Griffin, who was 17 years old, died on the way to the hospital; Kristin died later at the hospital. They tell us Kevin and Nancy were found dead at the scene.
Officers say Kevin died after a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Terry Griffin, Kristin's father, is still in the hospital.
We're told Griffin was a student athlete at Patrick Henry High School. He played football and baseball for the school.

UPDATE 11:58 a.m.: Glade Spring and surrounding communities are still trying to cope with a deadly shooting that happened early Tuesday morning.
The Washington County, Virginia Sheriff's Office tells us five people were shot; four are confirmed dead, including the shooter.
The sheriff's office was still at the home at noon conducting an investigation.
Deputies tell us it all started around 5:00 Tuesday morning. They say there has been an ongoing domestic dispute between a husband and wife; the sheriff's office had been notified about the dispute and were helping to resolve it.
They say the wife was staying with her parents Tuesday morning, when the husband forced his way into the home with a handgun and rifle.
Investigators tell us there was a struggle inside the home. Four people were shot before the shooter turned the gun on himself.
Deputies tell us one of the victims ran to the home of Rob Romans, a neighbor, to call for help. "I woke up first, heard a knock on the door, someone calling for help at the house. He had gone to at least one other residence, and I think they are the ones who called 911. We opened the door and found him," Romans said.
We're told one victim is still at the hospital.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office has called a press conference for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday; we're told that's when they will release the names of the victims.

UPDATE 10:40 a.m.: The Washington County Sheriff's Office will hold a press conference at 2 p.m. about the shooting.
We're told no other details or names of the deceased will be officially released until that time.

UPDATE: 8:12 a.m.: Washington County Sheriff Fred Newman has confirmed four people are dead and one person is hospitalized after a shooting Tuesday morning on Graceland Lane in Glade Spring, Va.
Investigators confirm the shooter is one of the dead. They tell News 5 the shooting stems from an ongoing domestic dispute.
The names of the people involved have not been released.
Investigators say a man forced his way into the home of his wife's parents and opened fire. There was a struggle in the home.
One of the victims was seen running to nearby homes trying to get help.
We're told the suspect was armed with several guns.

UPDATE: 8:00 a.m.: Sheriff Fred Newman has confirmed a shooting on Graceland Lane in Glade Spring, Va. He confirms there are four deceased in the incident.
Newman tells us the shooter is among the four who were killed.
5:42 a.m.: Sheriff Newman tells News 5 that officers are on the scene of a possible shooting at a home in Glade Spring Tuesday morning.
He tells us there are multiple victims. The extent of their injuries was not known as of 5:42 a.m.
