State Representative Matthew Hill holds town hall meetings

EMBREEVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee State Representative Matthew Hill (R) held his final town hall meeting in Embreeville on Saturday afternoon as preparation for start of the 2014 legislative session.

Hill discussed issues like forced annexation and teacher licensure.

He also told voters that he'll push for spending cuts in Nashville to help balance this year's budget, as the state deals with a $100 million budget shortfall.

Hill told us there will also be two pieces of meth legislation coming up in session.

"One will be to reduce the amount of cold medicine people will be allowed to buy because cold medicine has pseudoephedrine in it," he said. "The other will be to make pseudoephedrine prescription-only, where you have to go to a doctor to get a prescription to buy the cold medicine."

Hill told us he does not support the latter proposal.

The legislature reconvenes on Tuesday.
