Police chief recognized for many years of service

BRISTOL, Va. - It's the end of an era for the city of Bristol, Virginia.

In just a couple weeks longtime Police Chief Bill Price will retire after 21 years as a head of the department.

Tuesday night, the chief was recognized at the Bristol, Virginia city council meeting for his many years of service to the community.

Price tells News 5, he plans to stay active in the area.

And even after 51 years in law enforcement, he feels like time has flown by.
"It's gone too fast and I honestly don't feel like it is the end. The years have passed real fast. It's been my pleasure serving the citizens of this city. My biggest pleasure has been working with a group of men and women in this police department," said Price.

Price last day is January 1st, but he isn't the only one retiring soon.

Terry Rohr and Judy Orefield of the court clerk's office were both recognized for more than 30 years of service each.
