Virginia State Police launch new crime prevention app
Virginia State Police are giving people a new way to report crime or suspicious activity in the area.
VSP has launched a new app called "See Something, Send Something".
It allows residents to send in tips for suspicious or criminal activity by sending a picture or a note using their smart-phone.
The tip will then be sent to police for further review.
The app also provides tips on what to look for and when to send in a tip.
"See Something, Send Something" is available for free for iPhone and Android users.
Police say it does not replace 911 services and should not be used during an emergency.
