Exciting news for a southwest Virginia native competing in the Paralymic games in Sochi, Russia.

Heath Calhoun is a two-time paralympian and disabled Army veteran.

Today he won silver in the Men's Super Combined,  sitting event.

He finished in 2 hours, 19 minutes, 9 seconds.

The win marks the first paralympic medal of his carer.

The Grundy, Va native lost both of his legs in Afghanistan.

Canada won gold in this event.
