Virginia agriculture chief named president of southern group
Virginia Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Matthew J. Lohr has been named president of the Southern Association of State Departments of Agriculture.
The Southern Association is one of four regional groups of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture.
Lohr will preside at the Southern Association's annual meeting in Charlottesville in June 2014.
The Southern Association includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, Puerto Rico and the Virginia Islands.
