Va. looks to reform education
Tennessee governor Bill Haslam and Baltimore superintendent S. Dallas Dance will be keynote speakers for a summit on Virginia education reform.
Virginia governor Bob McDonnell also will deliver a keynote address at the summit, which will be held August 5 in Chantilly.
Topics include college and career readiness, solutions for struggling schools and public charter schools.
McDonnell says several pieces of legislation in Virginia resulted from the 2012 summit, including the Educator Fairness Act and the Red Tape Reduction Act.
