Some visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park were hurt when a tree fell during inclement weather.

According to park officials, rangers were called around 4 p.m. Wednesday and told people touring Cades Cove had been injured. Rangers found a 41-year-old woman had been knocked unconscious by the falling tree. Her one-year-old daughter and seven-year-old nephew had also been injured.

The incident occurred at the Missionary Baptist Church. Foul weather prevented the use of a helicopter and the victims were taken by ambulance to the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville. No names were immediately released.

Cades Cove is popular with tourists in the Smokies. It contains a collection of cabins, churches, outbuildings and a grist mill from the 1800s.
