From 1887 to 2010, only eight tornadoes have been documented in Greene County, Tennessee. Five were recorded in one night on April 27, 2011! The last documented tornado to hit Greene County before this outbreak occurred in 1994.Four tornadoes also touched down in Washington County, Virginia, with one crossing the border into Smyth County. The tornado that blew through Glade Spring was on the ground approximately 25 miles in Washington County, making this the longest-track tornado ever recorded in the county.One tornado struck Johnson County, Tennessee.
