Tenn. pharmacy under investigation by FDA
A compounding pharmacy in northwest Tennessee is connected to an investigation by the FDA.
Government health officials are investigating after people were injected with potentially contaminated medications made by Main Street Family Pharmacy in Newbern, Tennessee.
The FDA says the problems involve seven patients who received steroid injections containing the same drug at the center of last year's deadly outbreak of fungal meningitis.
Officials say there's no indication at this time of meningitis or other life threatening infections.
According to pharmacy records, the drug was shipped to medical facilities in 13 states including Tennessee, North Carolina, and Kentucky.
Tennessee health officials say the pharmacy has agreed to recall all of its sterile products.
