A Texas man is in a local jail charged with stalking his ex-girlfriend after police say she found a recording device in her apartment.

Ronald Acker is charged with aggravated burglary and stalking after Jonesborough Police say his ex-girlfriend found a recording device in her apartment on Friday.

Investigators believe Acker traveled 1,500 miles from Texas to Jonesborough.

We're told the landlord let Acker into the apartment on West Main Street in Jonesborough. "They see the offender coming from the house and he's got cuts, scrapes, scratches and says he's got them from the bushes at her house. They also found a piece of property from inside the house in his possession," said Jonesborough Police Chief Matthew Hawkins.

Acker was booked into the Washington County, Tennessee Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
