TSSAA investigating claims against Gerald Sensabaugh; coach denies any wrongdoing

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. - The Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association says it is looking into claims that Gerald Sensabaugh, the David Crockett High Football coach who was placed on administrative leave earlier this year, took two of his players to Dobyns-Bennett High School to meet with coach Graham Clark.

TSSAA officials say David Crockett Administration self-reported the issue. We're also told coach Clark refused to talk to the student athletes knowing it would be a violation, and that Dobyns-Bennett did not violate any bylaws.

We reached out to coach Sensabaugh, who denies any wrongdoing in this situation. He says he did not recruit anyone to Dobyns-Bennett for athletic reasons. Instead, he says he just encouraged anybody wanting a good education, athlete or non-athlete, to consider the school. Sensabaugh has gone on the record in the past saying he would not send his own children to David Crockett in its current condition.

The outside firm investigating multiple allegations against Sensabaugh from his time as David Crocketts head coach has not released its findings yet.

Interim head coach Nick Lingerfelt will lead the Pioneers onto the field on Friday against Morristown East. If David Crockett wins, they'll clinch a playoff spot.
