The TBI has released the name of the man who was stabbed to death Monday morning at a home in Erwin.
The agency said Ricky Lynn Price, 55, of the 300 block of Tipton Street was found by officers just after 10 a.m. suffering from multiple stab wounds. He later died at an area hospital.
District Attorney Tony Clark has requested that the TBI assisting Unicoi County officials in the investigation.
Sheriff Mike Hensley said that a woman is being questioned as a person of interest in the case but no charges have been filed at this time.

Unicoi County, TN Sheriff Mike Hensley has released new information concerning a murder Monday morning at a home in the 300 block of Tipton Street in Erwin.
The male victim was stabbed multiple times and managed to make it to make it to a neighbor's home before collapsing, the sheriff said. Police and emergency arrived on the scene just after 10 a.m. and the victim was taken by a medical ambulance helicopter to an area hospital where they later died.
Hensley said a woman has been taken into custody as a person of interest in the case but no charges have been filed as of yet.
UPDATE, 11:31 a.m.
The lockdown at Unicoi County High School has been lifted, according to school personnel.
The murder investigation continues.

Investigators are investigating a homicide in Unicoi County, Sheriff Mike Hensley confirmed to News 5.
Few details are being released accept that Hensley said police received the call just before 10 a.m. Monday morning and Unicoi County High School was placed on lockdown.
A spokesperson for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said the case is based in the 300 block of Tipton Street and their officers are assisting Unicoi County officials.
