Update: Couple identified in Sullivan County shooting

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. - UPDATE 8:35PM:  We now know the names of the two people involved in a shooting in Sullivan County.

The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office has identified the couple as Ricky and Edith Neeley. We're told they were married.

20-year-old Edith Neeley was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting. 22-year-old Ricky Neeley was taken to Holston Valley Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.

We're told the shooting appears to be the result of a domestic dispute, but the investigation is ongoing.

Deputies say 2 children were at the home at the time of the shooting.  They were released to family members


The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting, according to spokesperson Leslie Earhart. 

Investigators told News 5 multiple shots were fired on New Summerville Road Friday afternoon.

During the shootout, deputies said a wife died and her husband was wounded. 

Deputies have not released the victim's name or details on who pulled the trigger.
