SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. - A company hoping to bring auto manufacturing to the region has changed plans.
The C&F building on Airport Parkway in Sullivan County sits empty after the company failed to get a contract to make auto parts.
Instead, the owners are hoping to create wind turbines. "They will ultimately, according to the company, manufacture in the U.S. and market in the U.S. the wind turbines that will be made here," according to Richard Venable, a consultant with Networks Sullivan Partnership.
We're told the company hopes to build a wind turbine on the property. If the Federal Aviation Administration approves it, construction could start in March.
