Massive fire burns Pigeon Forge cabins

At least 35 cabins destroyed, more evacuated

PIGEON FORGE, Tn. - Firefighters in Pigeon Forge are batting a massive fire at the Black Bear Ridge Resort.

Officials with the Sevier County Fire Department say the fire sparked up around 4 p.m. as a brush fire, and quickly spread to a nearby cabin.  From there, it continued to spread until it destroyed at least 35 cabins at the resort.

150 people have been displaced by the fire, and no injuries have been reported.

25 fire departments have responded to the blaze that has covered 300 acres.
