Police: Woman walked out of store with rings worth $90,000

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Johnson City Police are investigating a theft after Dempsey's Jewelry on Peoples Street says a woman walked in and took several rings.

Dempsey's Jewelry owner Dempsey Jordan tells News 5 it happened Wednesday around 11:00 a.m.

Jordan says a woman, seen above in surveillance camera footage, came in to look at diamond engagement rings. He says the store clerk showed her several rings, then the suspect grabbed them and ran out of the store.

Police tell us the rings were valued at over $90,000.

A white, late-model Toyota sedan driven by a man met her in the parking lot and they fled the scene. A surveillance photo of the car can be seen below.
