JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Johnson City Fire Department responded to a two alarm fire at 701 W Locust St.
The first arriving engine companies began the fire attack and the ladder companies began a rescue search.
The fire alarm activated and occupants were exiting the structure upon the arrival of the Fire Department.
Operating crews were able to obtain a rapid fire knockdown and contain the fire to the apartment of fire origin.
Crews were on scene until 5:13 p.m.. There was no spread of the fire beyond the apartment. The structure received smoke damage to the second and third stories.
The fire is being investigated by the Johnson City Fire Marshal's office. There were no firefighter injuries.
