Police: Tool belt left at attempted murder scene

HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. - The Hawkins County Sheriff's Department is asking for help solving an attempted murder.

Deputies were called to Looney's Gap Road on January 8, when a man found a strange vehicle in his garage and two people trying to steal items.

Investigators say the suspects tried to speed away, but they hit the man, sideswiped the garage wall, and crashed into the victim's vehicle in the process. They dropped the tool belt pictured above at the scene.

The vehicle is described as a maroon Chevrolet pick-up truck with damage to the driver's side and passenger side, with the passenger side mirror being torn off.

The suspects are described as white men, approximately 5'10" tall. One of the suspects had a short beard and the other was clean shaven.
