A Hawkins County group needs your help to make sure no one goes hungry this Thanksgiving.
People Loving People in Rogersville have been preparing Thanksgiving meals for 14 years.
They also deliver meals to those who aren't able to leave their homes. But they can't do it alone.
They're looking for people to help deliver meals as well as cook and clean up afterwards. The work begins the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
"We need probably 400 to 450 people, volunteers to come and work this event, to help us. It starts on Tuesday and goes through Tuesday afternoon. Mostly, we need drivers to help deliver the meals, we need clean-up crews for after the meal, we need several that will work in the kitchen, cooking in the middle of the night throughout the day,” said event organizer Dr. Blaine Jones.
Jones says they served more than 3,200 meals last year. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the Joseph Rogers Primary School in Rogersville.
