Bluegrass legend makes stop in Bristol

BRISTOL, Tn. - Bluegrass legend Dr.Ralph Stanley played a concert in downtown Bristol Sunday night as part of his "farewell tour."

Stanley performed at Machiavelii's as part of a four day Halloween event at the restaurant.

Stanley played Sunday evening with the Clinch Mountain Boys at a place where Stanley got his start.

"It's a wonderful thing to do obviously with Dr. Ralph and his brother Carter Stanley's career starting on the farm and fun TV show on WCYB," said Stanley's manager Josh Trivett. "It only makes sense to have an early component of the farewell tour here in Bristol, with the early stages of his career starting in Bristol."

Trivett also tells us the tour has been emotional for Stanley and they are thinking about extending the tour so he can perform a little longer.
