Flames destroyed a barn and farming equipment on Arrowhead Loop in Midway, Tennessee Monday night.
Crews from four volunteer fire departments arrived at the scene shortly after 11 p.m. Monday and battled the fire until 4:30 a.m.
Up to 20 round bales of hay and two tractors were destroyed, along with several buildings. Crews say it took 40,000 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze.
Anthony Ball, chief of the Midway Volunteer Fire Department, says the damage estimates are high. "Structures were a total loss, approximately $100,000 worth of farm equipment was lost," he says.
The owner of the property lives in a local nursing home. The fire is still under investigation and is not considered suspicious.
