JOHNSON COUNTY, Tenn. -

The search for Johnson County woman accused of shooting a man and then shooting at sheriff's deputies Saturday night was called off Sunday morning.

The normally quiet Mc Ewen Road turned into a crime scene just after 10 p.m. Saturday night.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol and authorities from Washington County, Virginia joined the search for Buchanan on the ground and from the sky.

Around 1 a.m. sheriff's deputies received a tip saying that Buchanan had her 6-year-old daughter with her.

Sunday morning around 8:30, Bill Dunn arrived at his son's home on McEwen Road and found two bodies laying on a well head near the front of the yard.

He then stopped a passerby who called 911.

"Upon the arrival of my officers, we found to females deceased and it was the female involved in the domestic shooting last night and her daughter," said Reece.

Buchanan and her daughter Lexis both sustained gunshot wounds to the head.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Department has not determined a motive for the shooting. It is believed to be a murder-suicide.
