Many people remember our veterans on certain holidays, but they often don't include Christmas.
But Saturday more than one hundred people paid their respects to our fallen veterans by laying a holiday wreaths on their grave stones at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City.
Wreaths Across America held wreath laying ceremonies at veterans' cemeteries across the nation.
Taps and a gun salute were also part of today's holiday tribute.
Boy Scouts packs and Girl Scout troops from across the region were given the honor of laying the wreaths at the grave sites.
"Each one of these graves represents a man or woman who has given their life and their families have had sacrifices with their lives that allow us to be free today. They are learning that so many people in our community are heroes they don't wear capes they wear camo,” said Angela Jones, Pack 37 Johnson City.
