A man accused of beating an infant in Scott County has been indicted and is headed for trial.

The sheriff's office confirms 37-year-old Jeremy Scott Owens has been indicted and bound over for trial. He is charged with malicious wounding and felony abuse and neglect

Deputies say in January, Owens left a young boy with a broken leg and broken ribs at the child's mother's house.

They started investigating when the boy was taken to Lonesome Pine Hospital.

Owens is due back in court next week.
