Hundreds of motorcyclists drove through Bristol, Va. today for the annual “Run for the Wall” motorcycle ride.
“Run for the Wall” is aimed at honoring veterans, those killed in action, and raising awareness about veteran’s issues.
The trip takes ten days to reach the final destination—the Vietnam Memorial, in Washington, D.C.
Laurie “Airborne” Clay has been riding with “Run for the Wall” for nineteen years. She says that the ride is important because it is crucial to remember those who lost their lives in the armed service.
"We don't want anyone to forget about our history, and the men and women that may still be on foreign land,” said Clay.
Along the way the group stops at memorials, veteran’s hospitals and schools.
The trip began in California, and will end the day before Memorial Day.
