Roe co-sponsors bill to open national parks
Tennessee Congressman Phil Roe is co-sponsoring a bill to open the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
It's called the Opening National Parks act and it would ensure states are reimbursed within 90 days for funds they use to keep national parks open.
Roe said it is important for Tennessee where the great smoky mountains have a huge economic impact in East Tennessee-- especially during the fall.
Roe says he hopes that Haslam will choose to reopen the park if this bill passes.
