The Virginia Department of Transportation wants you to keep an eye on the road while keeping a look out for potholes.
VDOT spokesperson Michelle Earl tells us they're fairly limited on what they can do to repair potholes right now because asphalt plants are closed for the winter.
They can fill holes with a cold patch that may make things better temporarily, but they can't repair them if they can't find them. "If people can report the potholes, we'll know they're there and we can take care of them in the short-term. Then hopefully when the spring breaks we can get out there and do something more long-term," she said.
If you see a pot hole and want to report it to VDOT, they say to call 1-800-367-ROAD and they will check it out as soon as possible.
