BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. - The Affordable Care Act has been in effect for about a year; on November 15, open enrollment will begin for a second time.
Healthcare officials and a group called "Get Covered Appalachia" came together to remind people of the open enrollment date.
They also want to inform those who've already signed up about new plans and new carriers for this year. They tell us the website has been simplified since it was launched last year. "It was kind of a tedious process last year, and they realized that. So they have made it a more streamlined application and I believe that people will be impressed with the changes that have been made to the marketplace this year," said Project Access navigator Tracy Pate.
Pate says make sure to enroll by December 15 if you want coverage to start on January 1, 2015.
