Bristol mayors ask for award nominees

BRISTOL, Tenn./Va. - Do you know someone making a difference in the Bristol community? If so, the mayors would like to honor them

The call for nominations for the Mayors' Award of Distinction was issued during a press conference Thursday morning. Each year, the cities receive nominations of people whose volunteer work helps the Bristol community.

Nominations will be accepted through Thursday, March 27, 2014. Nomination forms may be found on either Bristol, TN or Bristol, VA websites, as well as in each city hall and the Chamber of Commerce.

Nominees must be at least 25 years of age and have been born in, lived in, worked in or have strong ties to the City of Bristol Tennessee/Virginia.

Self-nominations are welcome. Posthumous nominees must be nominated within 24 months following the death of the nominee.
